In our previous blog post, we showcased the "UrbanPop Pop-up Commercial Plaza" project, delivered in just 15 days. Many clients, amazed by the short construction period, couldn't help but wonder: what's the secret behind such rapid construction?
The answer lies in our modern factory in São Paulo. Today, let's explore the "birthplace" of these modular homes and uncover the efficient, precise, and high-quality industrial processes.
01 Precision Industrial Manufacturing, Surpassing Traditional Construction
Unlike traditional construction sites, our factory is more like a high-tech manufacturing center. Here, there's no harsh weather, no mud or dust; instead, there are temperature-controlled workshops, intelligent production lines, and highly trained skilled workers.
Modular construction breaks down the homes into multiple standard units, with over 90% of the construction processes completed within the factory.
Before each module arrives on site, the interior decoration, water and electricity pipelines, and even bathroom fixtures are already installed.
The advantages of this model are obvious: the construction cycle is shortened by up to two-thirds, and the quality is not affected by uncertain factors such as weather.
02 The Four Steps to the Birth of Modular Housing
Step One: Precise Design First
Everything begins with detailed design. Our engineers use Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology for full 3D design.
In the computer model, any pipeline conflicts or design errors can be identified and resolved in advance in virtual space, ensuring seamless integration with subsequent production.
Step Two: Precision Manufacturing on the Production Line
After the design is completed, production instructions are issued to the factory. Here, a 100-meter-long intelligent production line plays a crucial role.
Structural Frame Construction: The frame structure is made of high-strength Q235B steel, ensuring the main body is sturdy and reliable.
Wall and Interior Installation: Robotic arms precisely grasp components, completing instructions such as bolt tightening and welding reinforcement, working seamlessly with other intelligent equipment.
Quality Inspection: Each module must pass rigorous quality inspections, including airtightness testing (requiring air changes ≤ 1.0 times/hour) and environmental standard testing (formaldehyde concentration limit 0.07mg/m³).
Part Three: Intelligent Transportation and Logistics
The packaged modules will be transported to the project site by truck. Since our factory is located in São Paulo, transportation time to most of Brazil's core cities is minimized, avoiding the long waits and uncertainties associated with shipping from China.
Part Four: Efficient On-Site Lifting
This is the most impressive part—the "building block" style assembly process. Each module has standard lifting points and is installed using specialized lifting equipment.
Our highly efficient intelligent lifting system reduces the lifting time for a single module from 40 minutes to 5 minutes, and real-time sensor monitoring effectively reduces the risk of module deformation.
03mm-Level Precision, Creating Quality Beyond the Ordinary
You might worry: Can the quality of such rapidly constructed houses be guaranteed?
In fact, the quality of industrially produced products is often superior to that of traditionally handcrafted buildings. In a controlled factory environment, we can achieve millimeter-level manufacturing precision, a standard difficult to achieve on outdoor construction sites.
For example, the mechanical connection precision between our modules reaches ±3mm, and the vertical deviation control value of the buildings is far lower than that of traditional buildings.
04 Green and Sustainable Construction Concept
Modular construction is not only efficient but also environmentally friendly. Our factory follows green production principles:
Construction waste reduced by more than 75%: Compared to traditional construction, modular construction significantly reduces construction waste.
Materials are recyclable: Major materials such as steel can be recycled, conforming to the concept of a circular economy.
